    At Hazel’s we provide point-to-point delivery services, scheduled same day deliveries, expedited “hot shot” deliveries, and over-the-road long-distance transport services. We also offer air freight forwarding services and air charters when ground transport isn’t fast enough for time-critical deliveries. We specialize in expedited flatbed shipping.

    Job Description

    The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a sales capacity in the freight industry, with flatbed sales as a strong plus. Compensation includes Salary and Commission.

     

    The primary responsibility of the Business Development Representative is to open new accounts in the Dallas market, but will also be expected to periodically call on existing customers. From time to time, this position may require in-person visits to prospective new accounts, but most sales activity will be via the phone and email, with extensive cold calling required. The Business Development Representative is expected to generate their own list of prospective new accounts, so a hunter mentality is required. The Business Development Representative can also leverage an extensive database of dormant accounts and pickup/delivery destinations already familiar with Hazel’s, and is expected to service their existing accounts as needed to ensure business continuity and expansion of sales with existing accounts. Business Development Representatives will be responsible for adding an updating all customer contact information in our CRM software.

    Responsibilities

    Summary of Key Responsibilities

     

    Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

     

    • Establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on new potential accounts
    • Periodically call on existing accounts to expand our share of customer’s freight spend, including dormant accounts
    • Assist management with operational requirements of new accounts
    • Prospect/Close new accounts via phone, email, and in person visits
    • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results into our CRM Software
    • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc., and sharing with management
    • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
    • Work with Dispatch office when necessary to resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management and ensure all customer expectations are exceeded
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
    • Establish and meet new account goals and revenue targets

    Salary & Benefits

     

    This is a full-time W2 employee position. The starting salary for this position will depend on the experience level of the candidate. In addition to salary, this position includes a monthly commission payment.
